In 1971, while serving as a Chief of Police in Ohio, Commander David Traynor the founder of Traynor’s Police Academy began teaching Basic and Advanced Police Officers. In 2006, we celebrate 35 years of continuous training of the most elite law enforcement officers anywhere! We are now internationally known as we have trained cadets from, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Romania, Croatia, Columbia, and Bosnia.

We have had over 1,700 cadets in our training courses and in the fall of 2006, we will reach another milestone when we complete our 100^th training class.

Our staff of professional instructors has over 600 years combined experience in the profession.  Many of these instructors were themselves students in our Academy. Many more also fill the offices of Police Chief (35+), Sheriff (4+), and other high-ranking positions in local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Our graduates are now serving in nearly 100 police agencies in Ohio and other states.
